Credits & License
The visual design of Simplish is inspired by and mostly imitates Jeffrey Allen Hardy’s popular Scribbish. Scribbish is an elegant and beautiful theme for Typo, Mephisto, and other blog/CMS platforms - but not WordPress.
Simplish source code was originally derived from ScribbishWP by Kenny Pitt. ScribbishWP was based on the GPL-licensed Default (Kubrick) theme from the WordPress distribution. Portions of ScribbishWP CSS were taken directly from Hardy’s MIT-licensed Scribbish code. All of the above allow use, modification and (re-)re-distribution.
With permission from Kenny, and in accordance with the terms of Hardy’s MIT-style license, Simplish is available for use and modification under the GNU GPL (v3 or later). You are free to use and modify Simplish, if you share your changes. If you use Simplish on your site, it’s nice to give a nod to Jeffrey Hardy for the Occam’s Razor-sharp visual design of the original Scribbish, and to Kenny Pitt for the faithful and comprehensible initial WordPress port.
